GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for all aspects of financial and statutory reporting, including reporting on revenue, budgeting, the collection and analysis of financial information for strategic planning and analysis activities required to support the Company's growth and business development initiatives, including potential mergers and acquisitions.. Participate in budgetary planning.. Oversee, review, report and adhere to the budgets for each business department. Responsible for preparation (and presentation, as required) of budget & financial forecasts.. Liaise with interested personnel as needed to ensure timely submittals for preparation of forecasts, as well as monthly, quarterly, interim and annual financial statements with any supporting schedules.. Monitory and develop cash flow forecasts and balance sheet outcomes based on budgets and forecasts.. Prepare financial reporting-related analyses highlighting variances relative to expectations.. Prepare various cash flow and discounted cash flow analyses.. Prepare official reports, incl. preparation and presentation of quarterly financial performance reports for the RIA Board of Directors and any ad hoc reports as requested by Executive Management and/or the RIA Board of Directors.. Enforce general company financial and accounting policies to minimize financial risks.. Manages audits, as required, to ensure financial monitoring is up to date.. Research, analyze and interpret current regulatory industry developments and update management and Company guidelines to ensure compliance.. Provide accounting and financial information and reports for RIA's employee benefit plans.. Understand the current state of, and long-term goals for, RIA's financial reporting and analysis systems.. Collaborate with internal and external IT technical resources to enhance the capability and usability of financial systems within the company.. Prepare and analyze the financial market for long range/strategic plans, incl. prospective mergers and acquisitions.. Provide recommendations based on analysis and planning process.. Assist with training area personnel, if reported, in data output/input of financial systems.. Accomplish other projects and duties as required by supervisor and CFO, as needed.. WORK SCHEDULE: Normal business hours with some evenings and weekends as needed.. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequently required to stand, talk, walk, and have repetitive motions; occasionally required to climb, balance, reach; and seldom required to crouch, crawl, lift, push, and pull. SUPERVISION/GUIDANCE: Performs series of assignments usually independently using established or standardized procedures. Complex or unusual problems are discussed with Director of Accounting - Covalent.. Internal - Regularly required to work with employees outside of normal work group, including presentation of materials to, and contact with, the Board of Directors and its representatives. Those outside of normal work group would be employees and management of associated companies. The information exchanged is mostly routine and technical, but may involve confidential information on occasion.. External - Required to work with individuals outside of the company, including consultants, independent financial advisors and auditors.. QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / LICENSES:. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred. If not, then Certified Management Accountant certification.. Skills & Experience:. 7 to 10 or more years of relevant financial experience, required.. Experience in cash and accrual based accounting required.. M&A experience required.. Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.. Ability to prepare written reports and document business processes.. Excellent written and verbal communication skills..
