The Technical Accounting Manager will serve as a technical accounting subject matter expert with respect to the company s generally accepted accounting policies, and ensure quality and timeliness of financial guidance throughout the company s finance organization.
Develop and support the maintenance of accounting policies
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and assist in resolving questions
Perform research on accounting, industry trends; assess impact of new accounting pronouncements to the Company and write accounting conclusions/policies
Coordinate with external auditors on technical accounting matters
Work closely with closely with other functional teams on the implementation of accounting standards and recognition/reporting of complex accounting matters and transactions
Prepare and deliver presentations to facilitate firm-wide education of new or changing accounting requirements to ensure that management understands the impact of new standards and regulations
Train new team members on new policies and procedures
7 10 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years of experience in Big Four or national public accounting firms
CPA and Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.
Experience with performing complex accounting research and technical activities
Strong and demonstrated leadership, collaboration and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing technical memoranda and delivering presentations to senior executives
Strong analytical skills and leans towards challenging the status quo
Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word. PowerPoint and Access
Ability to work within a teaming/collaborative environment.
Strong self-starter with the ability to think creatively, solution unexpected issues and work independently to meet deadlines
